Things the Game Doesn't Tell You

Counter-intuitive Girls Echo rules read from the game files: Phantoms, summons, Adventure, towers, PvP, Maid Cafe and more.

Unlocks, time and rewards

TipDetails
Unlock hints show one condition at a timeMost features need a Server Day and a Player Level together. The lock hint only shows the first one you're missing, so after levelling up you may see a Server Day hint next. The Features page lists both.
Don't trust the in-game unlock textsMany unlock hints in the game files are wrong (Astral Rite says Clear Adventure 4-20, but it opens at Player Lv. 17). Unlocks on this wiki come from the condition table.
Server Day 1 is the opening dayServer days count calendar days, not full 24-hour periods. A feature that opens on Server Day 5 opens four midnights after the server launched.
Some countdowns use your phone clockThe Phantom Arena card and a few other timers count to midnight in your phone's time zone, not the server's. Abroad, the timer can be hours off the real reset.
Reward previews mix sure and random itemsMost reward previews list everything a reward can contain. Only chest details and summon rate pages tell guaranteed items from random ones.
Main screen Power is only one teamThe Power on the main screen is your first Adventure team, not your whole roster.
Quick Idle items share a daily limit (unconfirmed)All six Quick Idle items (30 minutes to 24 hours) count toward one limit of 5 uses a day, so use the long ones first. The limit is in the item data; how the server counts it isn't confirmed.

Phantoms

TipDetails
SPD isn't Power, and you can't raise itSPD has no weight in the Power formula, and levels, breakthroughs and stars never change it. Picking by Power alone undervalues fast Phantoms. Details on the Phantoms page.
One-tap star-up stops before the next starThe one-tap button fills the current star up to rank 6 and stops. The step into the next star (Star Advancement, or Awakening Advancement above 5★) must be tapped by hand, and only that step costs Phantom Dust and Heartsea items.
Linking a UR pulls the SSR+ from every lineupA linked UR and her SSR+ can't share a mode's lineup. Accepting the prompt removes the SSR+ from the lineups of all modes, not just the one in conflict, and then you have to tap Link again.
Spirit Rank breakthroughs give doubleEach breakthrough permanently adds twice the stats of the four medals you used. The rank-up popup only shows half of that as the gain.
Spiritual Sweep pays the same on any stageEvery sweep costs 1 Cruise Ticket and gives 1 medal material plus 100 Phantom EXP, whatever stage you sweep. The stage only decides which material you get.
The Path of Ascension centre follows your weakest coreCore Enhancement uses the lowest of the four Class Core levels, so levelling one core alone doesn't raise it. The help says five cores; there are four (no Support). It also has to be activated once before it can level.
Faction advantage is +25% damageWater beats Fire, Fire beats Wind, Wind beats Earth and Earth beats Water, for +25% damage. Radiant Star neither beats nor loses to anyone. The game only spells this out in its FAQ.

Summons

TipDetails
Only Common Summon takes DiamondsEvery other pool, standard or limited, takes its own tickets only. See the Summons page.
Familiar points bar reads the wrong currencyThe Familiar page's points bar and exchange button read Charmon Points. Check the Spirit Points in your bag instead.
Claiming one summon quest claims them allThe summon quest claim button doesn't pick a quest: tapping any Claim collects every finished quest at once.
The Roulette wheel isn't the rate listThe prizes drawn on the Roulette wheel and the ones on its rates page come from two different tables, with different items and amounts. The rates page is the published one.

Adventure, lineups and quests

TipDetails
Idle rewards use the next stage's rateYou earn the idle rate of the first stage you haven't cleared. Player EXP and Travel Coin stay the same at every stage. See the Adventure page.
Multi-team lineups only check the last teamWhen you save a lineup with several teams, the game only checks that the last team isn't empty. In Dome War you can save with teams 1 and 2 empty as long as team 3 has someone; whether the server stops it isn't confirmed.
Faction aura barely moves PowerLineup Power multiplies by the square root of the aura, so the five-of-a-kind +25% aura only shows as about +7% Power. Don't judge an aura by the Power number.
Radiant Star can't fill the "2" in 3+2Radiant Star Phantoms count toward your biggest faction group, never the second one, so they can't complete a 3+2 aura.
Seven easy daily quests max out activityDaily activity tops out at 180 points. Login, levelling a Phantom, one summon, collecting idle loot, Quick Battle, a Discount Shop buy and one Dispatch give exactly 180.
Online rewards end after day 3Online-time rewards only exist on your first three days, 80 Summoning Oath in total. From day 4 the panel closes itself.

Towers and challenges

TipDetails
Barren Illusion Spires share one daily rewardThe daily reward goes by your highest floor in any of the four Spires, so pushing one Spire pays best. Veteran Spire gives a daily reward per mode.
Neither tower can be sweptBarren Illusion and Veteran Spire have no sweep. Auto battle climbs until you lose, and only opens after Veteran Spire Single-Team floor 10, for both towers. See the Sacred Ruins page.
"Insufficient attempts!" in Abyss PrisonIt doesn't mean you're out of attempts. You can only open a team on your current floor; floors you've passed can only be joined to help someone else.
Only the first Abyss Prison assist pays wellYour first assist each day gives 100 Abyss Firestone, every later one only 5. Spend Abyss Firestone on the Abyss Shop tab of the Explore Shop.
Fictional Corridor attempts are per line"Attempts This Stage" means the whole line: each of the three lines has its own 3 free attempts a day, and extra ones always cost 20 Diamonds.
Ideation Hub "/h" is really per 10 minutesThe Hub screen's occupied-output line shows the amount for 10 minutes with a "/h" label, so it reads 6 times too low. A Lv. 1 Hub makes 90 Essence Supply Chests an hour, and stops after 12 hours unclaimed.
Attacking an Ideation Terminal drops the one you holdYou can hold one Terminal at a time, and challenging another gives up your current one whether you win or lose.
Dome War's Peak rank keeps more than the top 30The help says only the top 30 stay in Peak, but anyone in the top 30% of the server also keeps the rank. The help is also wrong for Intermediate: the top 20 promote, not 30.
A Locked Dome War card may just be the off-seasonBetween seasons the Dome War card shows Locked, as if it weren't unlocked yet. VIP doesn't change its 5 daily tickets (see the VIP page).

PvP

TipDetails
A lower-ranked Arena opponent sweeps 5 timesOpponents ranked below you only have a Sweep button, and one sweep uses up to 5 attempts at once.
A Dimensional Duel sweep uses every attemptSweeping in Dimensional Duel spends all your remaining attempts in one go. You can only challenge players up to 5 ranks above you.
The Arena settlement timer is wrongThe "Rank Settlement" countdown on the Phantom Arena card counts to midnight on your phone, when attempts reset. Daily rank rewards are actually settled at 21:00.
Arena tickets come before DiamondsWith no attempts left, the game offers your Phantom Arena Challenge Tickets before asking for Diamonds. Once you've bought all you can, the challenge button does nothing and shows no message.
Best-rank Arena rewards are cappedEach new best Phantom Arena rank pays Diamonds once: 10,000 in total, and nothing for ranks below 2,000.
Peak Duel "Current Rank" is your all-time bestThe qualifying hint shows your best-ever Phantom Arena rank, not today's. Having been in the qualifying range once doesn't mean you qualify now.
The 150 betting tier needs a 200 balanceThe middle Peak Duel bet shows 150 Diamonds, but the game checks that you have at least 200 before it lets you bet. What the server charges isn't confirmed.
Peak Duel lineups lock 2 minutes into a roundThe help says you can change your lineup until 2 minutes before a round. In fact you can change it for the first 2 minutes after a stage starts, then it locks.

Maid Cafe and Divine Abode

TipDetails
Maids can't be withdrawn one by oneMaids can only be added to a workshop. Moving them means resetting all workshops for 500 Diamonds, so plan before you assign.
Workshops unlock by player levelThe first workshop opens with Maid Cafe; the others need Player Lv. 70 up to Lv. 280. The help's workshop capacity rule (Lv. 20–100, +200) doesn't match the data (Lv. 40–115, +250).
Only the highest workshop bonus tier countsEach workshop's extra bonus uses the highest tier your maid count has reached; lower tiers don't add on top.
The Board Game stops when you pass the startStepping onto the start tile ends your move there, settles the round's rewards and draws a new map. The rest of your roll isn't used.
Teleport skips the Legendary MaidsYou're only offered the teleport when you stop on it, not when you pass. The teleport route is the shortest lap but has no Legendary Maid tile; each normal route has one.
Auto-explore teleport setting seems broken (unconfirmed)Auto-explore saves the fork and teleport choices together, then checks for the teleport choice alone, so Always Use never seems to trigger. Teleport by hand.
Divine Abode looks at stars, not levelEach seated Phantom adds Team ATK% and HP% by her star count; level doesn't matter, and a star-up updates the bonus without reseating. UR Phantoms can't be seated. Divine Abode opens at Server Day 4, Player Lv. 40; seats 2–5 open on Server Days 5, 8, 12 and 17.

Void Rift

TipDetails
It isn't openThe Void Rift is locked in the current version even though its text says Player Lv. 25. See the Void Rift page.
You don't choose the difficultyThe zone is the highest one your level unlocks, and difficulty follows your Power, so it rises as you get stronger.
